I just bought a '68 F250 with a great body and now am seeing an '85 F350 4x4 rollover victim for sale. Can I put the '68 body on the '85 frame without too much trouble? Or is this a rat's nest I ought to stay away from? I seem to remember reading that, I think in '73, the frame was widened and the wheelbase lengthened, or something of the like. This might put an end to the proceedings right there. But I am just in the dreaming stage right now, so does anybody know? A '68 F350 4x4 with a diesel would be pretty cool. _ _| ~~. I had the same problem with 3 203's (adventures in chevy ownership, Trust me it wont happen again!!!) just before I grenaded them... If at all possible find a 205 (cheaper in the long run)... Well, needless to say, with all the power this thing put out, I knocked out a lot of rear ends. Also got pretty good at replacing them too! Anyway, the chevy used a removable 3rd member, similar to a Ford 9". The trick my Dad showed me for getting the axles out was this. Get all your bolts unhooked, find a nice stout log chain about 10 feet long and attach one end to the axle using one or more of the wheel studs, then give the chain a good snap! Be prepared, the axle may pop out pretty quick. HELP! I have a 1979 Ford F 100 pickup. My fiance is trying to get the drums > on the rear wheels off, and he can't seem to do it. This guy even took the interior out of the F-350 and used in the 50's vintage truck. It was cool seeing a 50's vintage crew cab dually with the power stroke diesel go by in the parade. Damn shame GM thought of it. :-) As for the kickdown lever, on my '64 292 the linkage for that is attached to the manifold, not the carb. It does not need an extra lever on the carb. I wonder if that sort of setup could be adapted to a later engine to eliminate this problem? _ _| ~~. For a 2wd street truck I would recomend the same 2 setups, as the quadrajet has relativly small primaries (better mileage) and huge secondaries (better acceleration) , and the holley 4DI has smooth accelleration & excellent mileage (depending on how you program it)... Good luck...
