Stacey, If I understand the question correctly, you are going to REPLACE the cars' 460 oil pan, with a trucks' 460 oil pan thereby making the deep part of the pan in the rear of the motor to clear the trucks' crosmember, right? If so, then how will you clear the oil pump and pickup in the motor??? I don't know anything about 460's, but I assume the dipstick enters into the bottom end of the block and not the side of the pan. Maybe the pan you'd use (supposing you figure out the pump/pickup thing) would have a dipstick mount on the side (my 351W is like that) therefore you'd just have to tap & plug the original hole. Hope this helps, be sure to let me know Later, Randy (Brew) > Stacy Fisher wrote: > > Hello Everyone, > > I have a question about a 460 engine that I am hoping someone can > help me with. It is ? I've owned 4 trucks equipped with the np 208, 3 with a 205 and 2 with 203's and have never had this problem, and neither have any of the countless t-cases in any of my friends trucks. Keep in mind that 90% of these trucks spend 50% or more of there time with the hubs locked in. ( We buy and use 4x4's for the intended purpose of 4wd OFF-ROAD use... (the main reason 90% of our trucks are Ford. Everything else breaks like glass in this environment)) > Trying to "gorilla" it into and out of the 3 ranges can bend the shifter....
